Egg Poacher – Stylish & 5 Cup Convenience

I simply can not imagine a morning without a poached egg for breakfast. This is why Norpro Krona 10 Inch Egg Poacher is one of my favorite cooking tools in my kitchen. Basically, this is a great product and there is no doubt that it prepares eggs perfectly leaving any mess behind. This makes preparing eggs so simple and easy that they come out perfectly each time without any problems or frustration. The name does not suggests, but it can prepare up to 5 eggs at a time and for housewives who want to have a bigger number, go for the six piece model. With this useful product there is no need at all to use a standard egg pan which leaves so much mess behind for you to clean. Also, you do not need a spatula.

Best of all, never again will you have to bother about the perfect color or texture of your eggs.

The Nonpro Egg Poacher is mad of 18/10 stainless steel pan and a glass lid. And we all know how durable stainless steel is. The cooking unit consists of five cups for the eggs to be in place and, of course, this can be easily introduced into the pan itself. Also, it is good to say that all of these separate cups are equipped with a stylish and ergonomic black handle that helps to take out the finished egg from each cup without using a spatula. The poached eggs come out safely and there is no need what so ever to force it out using a table fork and a soup spoon.

When I first bought this model it worked like a Swiss watch and I was very pleased with its good performance. The major reason for this is because the egg cups are coated with one of my favorite materials – Teflon. It is true that some researches say that the Teflon isn’t safe to use at high temperatures, but it still does a job better that any other material I know of. The only thing you should keep in mind is that the Teflon coating doesn’t cause a problem as long as it is not peeled of from the cup. But my Teflon is still in place as I never use knife on it.

Now I the Nonpro but also I use the RSVP set for making poached eggs. Also, from time to time I use the pan without a poacher insert.

Also, the feature I really love about it is the glass lid which helps a lot to supervise the cooking session through the fabulously designed see through cover. And you can do all of that without even opening the lid. Overall, this egg poacher is one of the best 5 cup models. It is a bit costly – around $60 but the quality, durability and style justify this higher price.

Egg Poacher – Microwave vs. 6 Cup Model

Egg Poacher is basically a useful kitchen tool that makes great poached eggs. There are a lot of great and useful things about this product. Besides it serving the purpose it can come with some very advanced and cool features, such as a precision controlled operation. So, if you like well prepared eggs then this is the right product for you. A good one should be ergonomically designed and user friendly product with some advanced features.

One of my personal favorites is the RSVP International Endurance Egg Poacher 6-c. I am so fascinated at the performance of this $45 kitchen tool. And please, don’t get me wrong if I say that this greatly designed, slightly expensive chef’s essential can be compared to the professional cooking gear and not to mention some other models on the market. Without any doubt it is a perfect product. Now let me tell you what to expect. Just remember that this one has six cups, as the name indicates, and that basically means that it can prepare up to six eggs at a time. So, this is ideal for a large family, but also for large scale use. Best of all, it can cook non stop without any intermittent time consuming cooling sessions.

Also, I am looking for a decent 2 egg poacher so that I can use it in my mini caravan. The best ones are compatible with all the microwave models available on the market. Just remember that the temperature settings always need to be adjusted accordingly.

RSVP is made of high quality 18/10 stainless steel which is great. Neither does the stainless steel have that smell plastic models do have. It takes around 3 minutes to poach up to six eggs with this egg poacher. Just remember, the best thing is not to open it right away and to allow it to cook on its own temperature for one minute. Also, I would recommend you to try out several temperature settings because it largely depends on your cooking stove.

Greasing it is a must and don’t believe the RSVP when they say it doesn’t need oil or pig fat at all. It is not very sticky, but because of the taste I do like to smear it with butter, margarine or some pig fat. By doing so the egg comes out very easily.

Best of all, it is dishwasher safe. Usually I hand wash it under running water because the sticky egg at the bottom of the poacher can spoil the dishwasher. Also, the RSVP egg poacher is very safe to use. It does take a lot of counter space but it can be stored vertically which saves a lot precious space. And at last, but not least, the large handle makes it easy to maneuver.

Egg Poacher – Stainless Steel Magic

My decade old stainless steel egg poacher was completely worn out beyond use and I simply had to replace it. It was back than then that I came across of the Fagor 4-Piece Egg Poacher Set at the mall and I simply purchased it for around $50. I am pleased to say that this is a very good kitchen tool and this is no surprise concerning the fact it was designed by Fagor. Most of customers who bought it were also quite satisfied with it as many of the consumer reviews confirm.

The name clearly states that it is a 4 cup model and going by that everybody would expect the whole poaching unit to be nonstick. You will notice that both the exterior and interior of the lid and the pan are made of stainless steel. And the base is made of aluminum for good heat distribution. On the other hand, the poaching cups are not left unprotected by the Teflon coating. And Teflon is a well known non stick material. But still you may have a little problem here.

As the egg poacher gets heated up Teflon may cause the fumes and weird chemical smell which alter the natural aroma of the egg. If the surface of the Teflon coating is damaged, then it is a problem. The bad smell sinks deep into the egg and you simply can’t escape it. But usually you want have these problems.
On the other hand, Teflon is a very good heat conductor, so it takes somewhere around 2 to 3 minutes for 4 eggs to be done and the poaching time is consistent.

Since the Teflon is a good heat conductor, by the time the egg gets heated up from the base of the cup, the steam wouldn’t started the poaching process from the top. The thing that happens is that top and bottom are poached evenly.

The stainless steel handle and knob never get heated up and is perfectly safe for you to use without a mitt. And one of my favorite features includes a break-resistant tempered glass lid which lets housewives supervise poaching progress. And just like many other good models it has handles on cups for simple removal from boiling water. Many housewives will be pleased to know that both the lid and pan are safe to wash in a dishwasher.

Overall, this egg poacher is an extremely high quality kitchen tool. It makes a good job of poaching eggs. The glass lid lets you see the poaching process and, best of all, it is ventilated.
